Jiangsu Green Plastic Technology, which focuses on the research and development of environmentally friendly materials, recently launched the first domestically produced bio based material motorcycle trunk in collaboration with a motorcycle parts company. The product has achieved mass production and been put into the market. Compared with traditional ABS materials, bio based materials mainly use corn starch and plant fibers as raw materials, reducing carbon emissions by 35% during the production process. After product disposal, 80% degradation can be achieved in the natural environment, while maintaining comparable impact strength and weather resistance to traditional materials.
This trunk is currently available in two capacity versions, 35L and 45L, mainly aimed at environmentally friendly commuting users and shared travel platforms. A certain shared motorcycle company has purchased the first batch of 5000 for pilot testing. Data shows that vehicles using bio based tailboxes have a 28% increase in "environmental attributes" rating compared to traditional models in user satisfaction surveys. Industry experts say that with the promotion of the "dual carbon" policy, the application of bio based and recyclable materials in the field of tail boxes will gradually expand. However, the current production cost is still 15% -20% higher than traditional materials, and large-scale popularization still relies on technological breakthroughs to reduce costs.
